Fresh sage-green accent wall being painted by an Imagination Renovations crew member

What you get with every interior paint job

A great finish comes from the work you don't see after the paint dries. Our crews treat every home the way we would want ours treated.

  • Protection first. We cover your floors and furniture before any prep starts.
  • Proper prep. Minor repairs such as nail holes and scuff marks are filled and sanded smooth. Patches show through paint, so this step matters.
  • Two coats. Walls and trim get two coats for even coverage and a durable finish.
  • Clean edges. Crisp lines at ceilings, trim and corners, with no drips or splatter left behind.
  • Tidy finish. We clean up and walk the finished work with you before we call it done.

Prep is where a good paint job starts

Rushed prep is the most common reason paint peels, flashes or shows patches. We fill and sand repairs, mask carefully, and prime where a surface needs it, so the topcoat goes on evenly.

If you like to understand the job before you hire, our short guides are a good start: which sheen goes where and the tools every beginner needs. Prefer to leave it to a crew? That is what we are here for.

Choosing colour that works in your light

Richmond homes get a lot of grey, soft winter light. A colour that looks warm in a store can turn cool at home. Test a sample on your wall, check it in the morning, afternoon and evening, and live with it for a day or two. We are happy to help you narrow the choice.

FAQ

Interior painting questions, answered

How much does it cost to paint a room in Richmond?

Our Fall/Winter special starts at $500 for a standard 12×12 room (walls and trim, two coats). It runs October 1 to December 31, 2026. Ceilings, larger rooms and wall damage bigger than nail or screw holes are priced separately, and your final price is always confirmed in a written quote.

What is included in standard prep?

Standard prep covers minor repairs such as filling nail holes and touching up scuff marks. Bigger repairs, like cracks, dents or water damage, are quoted separately so you know exactly what you are paying for.

Do I need to move my furniture?

We protect your floors and furniture as part of every job. Clearing fragile items, art and personal belongings before we arrive helps the crew work faster and keeps your things safe.

How long will it take?

It depends on the size of the space and how much prep it needs. A single standard room is often a quick job, while whole homes take longer. We give you a timeline in your written quote.

Do you paint ceilings, trim and doors?

Yes. Ceilings, baseboards, door frames, doors and built-ins can all be added to the job. They are not part of the $500 room special, so we include them in your written quote.

Can you help me choose colours and sheens?

Yes. We offer colour consultation, and we suggest testing samples on your wall and checking them in morning, afternoon and evening light before you commit.

Is it safe to paint an older Richmond home?

Homes built before the 1990s can have older paint layers that contain lead. If your home is older, we advise testing before any sanding or scraping so the work is done safely.

Do you paint commercial spaces too?

Yes. We paint homes and businesses, including offices and reception areas, across Richmond and the Lower Mainland.

How fast can you start?

We reply to every inquiry within 24 hours, with consultations available as soon as the next day. Start dates depend on our schedule at the time.
